Authors (updated in 2004)

Emily Waite: I am a eighth grader attending Colegio International Puerto La Cruz (CIPLC) in Venezuela. I was born in Louisiana and have spent my whole life overseas. Before moving to Venezuela, I lived in Saudi Arabia, Indonesia and Kuwait. I would like to travel to Africa and Antarctica before I die (the only continents in which I have not been to). I enjoy sports, boating, hanging out with my friends, traveling, playing with my dog Hershee, and much more. To the right is my dog and I when I first arrived in Venezuela.

My initial interest in VisualBots was working on a family project, but soon after I realized how fun and educational it could be. In fact I have been working on this project ever since fifth grade. I started out simply playing around with the program, making suggestions, and discovering flaws in the system for my father, but as time went by I became more experienced with VisualBots, and my work with it became more advanced. I have advanced from changing background colors of a simulation to creating my own simulations.

Kaylee Waite: I am a sophmore studying at CIPLC in Venezuela. My main hobbies are sports and reading; I do alot of both. I enjoy visiting Islands, water skiing, and traveling; my next goal is to make it to Africa, then Antarctica. I was born in Saudi Arabia, and have thereafter moved to Indonesia, Kuwait, and Venezuela. I began working on VisualBots when I was in 7th grade, and have worked on it every summer since. It began as obligation to my parents, but has transformed into true interest. This upcoming year I will be taking a course on visual basic and VisualBots has prepared me this (I hope). I want to continue this project, hoping that it is actually going somewhere.

Alecia Waite: I am a senior in high school. I enjoy Model United Nations (MUN), sports, computer science, and hanging with my friends. I am actively involved in the National Honor Society and one of my favorite activities is tutoring students at my school. My interests are water skiing, taking care of my dog, and reading. I am a vegetarian. I have enjoyed working on this website project and think of programming as a tool that can be applied to numerous school projects. Visit my other webpage projects at:

Mike Waite: I'm employed as a geoscientist in the oil exploration and production business. I specialize in analysis of seismic reflection surveys and in computer modeling of hydrocarbon reservoirs. My hobbies include boating, biking, and computer science. My motivations in co-developing VisualBots with my family were in helping my three daughters learn computer programming and in exploring the very interesting subject of emergent behavior, which I feel is important for developing a better understanding for the way the world works.

Carla Waite: I am a mother and serve on the CIPLC school board. I believe in community service and encourage participation by our family whenever possible. I served as a Girl Scout leader for my daughters for five years. I have volunteered/aided in the classrooms at schools in the various countries we have lived for the past ten years. I believe in family endeavors and try to instill a love of learning and adventure in my daughters. I enjoy cooking, traveling, reading, boating, experiencing new countries and cultures, and spending time with my family.

The Waites work on VisualBots as a family hobby at their home in Venezuela. They have lived in Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, and Kuwait and enjoy overseas living. Their favorite hobbies are exploring the islands in Puerto La Cruz and traveling.
